Job Description

HGV Driver required for a busy builders’ merchants with branches in Godstone, Gatwick and Sevenoaks delivering to both trade and retail Customers within a 30 mile radius. HGV licence and CPC required, with crane certificate preferred. Good communication skills with good knowledge of local areas would be beneficial. No long distance involved. Lifting / manual handling will form part of this role.

Qualities Required

The successful candidate will need to be able to work as part of a team as well as under their own initiative. They will preferably have some experience of working within the builders’ merchant industry, but this is not essential.

Pay

Basic rates and bonus estimates available on request and dependent on experience and qualifications. The company complies with its legal obligations on pay and government pension scheme availability.

Holiday Entitlement

In addition to all Bank Holidays off, paid in full, staff accrue 21 days paid holiday per annum.

Working Hours Description

We are currently open 5½ days per week and operate a two week alternating rota which normally results in every other Saturday off. During December, January and February we normally postpone our weekday opening time until 07:30. This reduces the working hours by an average of 2½ hours per week for this period. During these months pay is not adjusted to reflect the reduction in working hours.
