Small firm of solicitors based in Oxted Surrey seeking an experienced legal secretary with residential conveyancing experience to provide secretarial and admin support to a fee earner. Audio typing skills and proficiency in Word and Excel essential; some experience in other areas of law apart from residential conveyancing such as matrimonial, probate and wills an advantage.

You will be taking instructions from the fee earner for a wide range of tasks on sale and purchase files such as transfers of title, new build purchases, discharge of mortgages and re-mortgage work, dealing personally with clients and estate agents to manage queries, advising and keeping clients up to date with the progress of their transaction via email and phone, ordering searches on sale and purchase files, preparing contract packs, Land Registry and mortgage forms and drafting SDLT returns, dealing with post exchange, completion and post completion formalities. Admin duties to include billing, banking, maintaining spreadsheets and legal databases.

Working hours 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.
